Playing with new tools

This new year was a tough one. Before that, I was rather satisfied with the way I was creating, or rather I was satisfied with the fact I had found a new balance, making time to create, spending time with family, etc... So after fate struck, it took me quite some time to get back to my feet.

I went back to the Monday painting club I used to go, and felt I was happy to paint again, and I am working on a watercolor portrait (and YES!! Arches Paper makes a big difference). Maybe I will post it later, when it's finished.

As I had missed a few sessions, the lady in charge gave me an update and gave me a copy of a picture we were all supposed to draw in sepia and black crayon. I took the (poorly xeroxed) copy home and thought about finding the crayons my wonderful friend Sybyle had offered me a few years back. I knew I had them in a paper bag somewhere.

I found them yesterday. Immediately, I had that urge to try and do that portrait. But first I stored the crayons in a little box I had that seemed to be of the perfect size for them, and I love that box, it's very relevant in that year of the pig!
